NYSERDA is seeking applications from non-profit organizations, municipalities, public colleges and universities, private non-profit universities, and public libraries located in or serving the Bronx and Queens located in or serving the New York City boroughs of the Bronx and Queens to hire a full-time Climate Justice Fellow for 15 months. NYSERDA’s Climate Justice Fellowship Plus (CJF Plus) Program is 100 percent funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through an award totaling $3,000,000. The CJF Plus Program will provide wage subsidies for eligible entities to hire individuals for 15-month climate justice fellowships. It is expected that fellows will assist with community engagement activities (e.g., plan, policy, or project), support clean energy/climate justice project development and implementation, facilitate, or build upon partnerships, or engage in other projects related to advancing climate justice and clean energy priorities in the Bronx and Queens.

As part of the CJF Plus Program, NYSERDA will fully fund a fellow’s wage of $30 per hour for 15 months, totaling $73,125. Additionally, NYSERDA will fund $5,000 in approved professional development and/or supportive services per Fellow that will be distributed by BronxWorks, a multi-service organization and settlement house based in the Bronx. Fellows will also have access to cohort services, which are focused on professional development activities.  Fellows must be members of a defined Priority Population and residents of New York’s 14th Congressional District. Host organizations can be entering and/or currently working to advance climate justice and/or clean energy priorities for communities across the Bronx and/or Queens.
