EPTD DER Low-Cost Monitoring, Control, Backfeed Protection & Smart Inverters (4094)

Due Date:  08/15/2019  (Round 1)

Deployment of distributed energy resources including solar power and energy storage systems means that future energy distribution system will be dramatically different from that which is in place today. Systematic improvements to grid investments and operations are needed to accommodate widespread adoption of distributed energy resources and enable market development across New York State. This solicitation invests in focus areas that accelerate the safe and reliable integration of high penetrations for clean distributed energy resources with the New York State electric grid. Proposals should focus on three areas of low-cost monitoring and control, preventing back-feed from storage systems and smart inverter functions.
