Cleantech Accelerator (PON 3875)

Due Date:  07/26/2018  (Round 1)

Description

This New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Program Opportunity Notice (PON) 3875, seeks proposals to provide early-stage investments and services to enable the development and validation of promising clean energy technologies that are, or will become, the platform for start-up companies located in New York State. The Cleantech Accelerator that results from this program will serve as a statewide Proof-of-Concept Center for New York State.  NYSERDA’s strategy is to create long lasting programs that will catalyze ideation around clean energy, mentor/support the formation of teams/startups for problem/solution fit, targeted programing to achieve product/market fit and then help the company achieve a level of market traction.

Through this competitive solicitation, NYSERDA is seeking proposals from organizations that will deliver Proof-of-Concept Center (POCC) programs to teams from anywhere in New York State. The teams do not have to be affiliated with an academic institution. It is anticipated that an additional competitive solicitation will be issued in the future for academic institution-based POCCs. Proposals will be evaluated, in part, based on the anticipated effectiveness of the proposed comprehensive and integrated set of activities in three areas: Ideation & Team Formation; Validation & Entrepreneurial Training; and, Business Formation, Support & Growth.

The maximum award to the Cleantech Accelerator will be $10,000,000. Awarded contract(s) will be for an initial term of five years with one, one-year option to renew. A proposer may request all or a portion of the available funding.  NYSERDA does, however, anticipate making one or more awards as a result of this solicitation. NYSERDA reserves the right to add or reduce time and/or funding to awarded contracts.
