New Efficient Homes New York: Heat Pump Incentive Program (PON 6242)

Description

Provides direct funding from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative Operating Plan for the purchase and installation of cold-climate air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) in eligible new construction residential projects across New York State for projects that are less than 50,000 square feet in size. Incentives are available to single-family and small homes (1-4 dwelling units) and low- and mid-scale multifamily buildings (5+ units, under 50,000 gross feet) located anywhere in New York State. The Applicant is the developer or home builder responsible for the management and construction of an eligible Project; or the heat pump installer may fill the application as elected by the Applicant.

Projects must fully electrify space conditioning with no fossil fuel backup (standby / emergency generators excepted). Incentives are paid per dwelling unit on a declining block schedule tied to application submission date, with an additional per-unit bonus for projects located in New York State disadvantaged communities.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through December 15, 2029, by 3 PM ET or until the allocated budget has been fully committed, whichever occurs first.
